ONR Unleashes HEL

updated on April 11, 2010 11:00PM by Admin

The Office of Naval Research has successfully tested a high-energy laser (HEL), the first of its kind to be utilized to disable a sea vessel. Researchers used the HEL to set fire to the engine of several test vessels anchored off the coast of California. ONR researcher James Morrison: "This test provides an important data point as we move
toward putting directed energy on warships. The HEL utilizes a high intensity solid state laser to reduce dangerous waste gases and compensate for the power reduction from firing into air saturated with salt water vapor.  A video of the test can be seen here.

Military Demonstrates Two New Powerful Projectile Weapons

updated on December 10, 2010 by Admin

Although the military's deepest, expensive, and technological blazing weapons are deeply hidden within the shadows of the Fed's black operations program, every now and then the military likes to unbutton its shirt and flex before the world media. For every Ark of the Covenent hidden away in a wooden box on some clandestine, subterranean base, there are expensive toys like the Army's XM25 rifle the Navy's 33 MJ electromagnetic rail gun to front the company. This month, the media was invited to demonstrations of both these revolutionary arms.
The XM25 Counter Defilade Target Engagement System: A seven year developmental project from Minnesota's Alliant Techsystems, the XM25 rifle fires a 25 mm round (see left) which can be pre-programmed to detonate in front of or behind a target. The XM25 can thus be utilized as a bunker busting or artillery round, with the capability of discharging when the target is most vulnerable.  The range of this new weapon is extraordinary, more than 2300 feet (eight football fields), well beyond the range of current rifles.
Once fired, a computer chip inside the round can be pre-programmed to detonate in precise locations: over a stone wall or through a natural defilate. The chip calculates time and distance since triggering, allowing for a long range and effective barrage.
Lt. Col. Christopher Lehner, project manager for the semi-automatic, shoulder-fired weapon system for the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office Soldier, said that the XM25's capability alone is such a "game-changer" that it'll lead to new ways of fighting on the battlefield, beginning this month in Afghanistan. ONR Electromagnetic Rail Gun
For any student who has survived the second semester, introductory physics course, then concept behind this second weapon developed by the ONR should be a familar one. The E&M rail gun is a non-explosive projectile weapon which utilizes the Lorentz force(force of a B field on the electrons in a circuit) to propel a projectile (whose contact points constitute one side of the circuit) to very large speeds without the need for gunpowder or a priming charge.
As shown in the figure on the right, the projectile begins to move along the rails (green arrow), as the electron pass through the object and are pushed outward by the magnetic field within the circuit.  On December 9, ONR successfully tested their gun, producing a record breaking Mach 7 fired projectile (see image left). Its increased speed allows the projectile to increase its range: the Navy predicts their rail gun can reach distances as far as 100 miles. Today's Naval guns are limited on average to thirteen miles. The large muzzle velocity also promises to increase the level of damage on a target: a 1 MJ projectile can cause as much damage as a car impacting at 100ph, this device promises 33 times that force.

WikiLeaks Threatens to Unleash Poison Pill if Founder Assange is Imprisoned, Dies, or WikiLeaks Destroyed

updated on December 8, 2010 by Admin

The file "insurance.aes256" is a gigantic 1.4 gigabyte-size file which has been described in the press as a Poison Pill or Doomsday Leak. Protected by a 256 bit encryption key, this file allegedly contains a massive storage of embarrasing, classified information: its release is controlled by a select followers of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange currently a few keystrokes and mouse click away if Mr. Assange is imprisoned, killed, or WikiLeaks is shutdown.
Currently, Julian Assange has been held in London awaiting an extradition hearing on charges of rape and sexual assault stemming from an incident with two women in Swedan. According to the The Guardian, some believe the file contains "more than 200,000" unredacted diplomatic cables that can be accessed only by using a 256-digit code. These may include documents leaked from a hard drive owned by Bank of America or unpublished papers from British Petroleum and/or Guantanamo Bay. The fate of this information and WikiLeaks itself may be at the mercy of the authorities holding Mr. Assange and whether they proceed with what are very bizarre and superficially thin charges of coerced sex with two women.  CNN

DEBUNKED: Mysterious Launch of Chemically Propelled Object Baffles Experts

updated on November 9, 2010 by Admin

Fascinating story out of Southern California. A KCBS news helicopter flying over Los Angeles at around 5 p.m. Pacific time videotapped stunning images of an apparent launch of a chemical rocket off the Los Angeles coast. The ruddy contrail (top image below) of the object was visible for miles, but the the source of the chemical trail was not identifiable ( below and right).
The object appeared to have been launched from sea although the Navy quickly denied they had engaged in any activities off the Southern California coast. Contacted by ABC News, a Navy official said today they were still looking into the report, but, a preliminary check indicated it was not a Navy asset.  In addition, the Pentagon told CNN that they were not aware of any activities Monday evening, but were talking to other agencies. More significantly, the FAA commented that they had received no request for air space clearance: considering the amount of traffic into Los Angeles, a launch of any kind without clearance is a serious breach of security.  CNN video here.
"NORAD and USNORTHCOM are aware of the unexplained contrail reported off the coast of Southern California yesterday evening," the agency said in a statement. "At this time, we are unable to provide specific details, but we are working to determine the exact nature of this event. We can confirm that there is no indication of any threat to our nation and we will provide more information as it becomes available."

NS-Did former President Bill Clinton Drop the Biscuit?

updated on October 18, 2010 by Admin

According to Gen. Hugh Shelton, who served under Clinton as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, former President Bill Clinton lost the codes controlling the American nuclear arsenal, allegedly for months at a time. As detailed in Shelton's book, "Without Hesitation: The Odyssey of an American Warrior," President Clinton misplaced the cards containing the nuclear codes (called the biscuit). A day after the Monica Lewinsky news broke, General Shelton asked Clinton for his card to swap out the old codes for updated ones. The former President could not produce it and scurried around the White House looking for the misplaced card. This information appears to be partially verified by Ret. Air Force Lt. Col Robert Patterson told a very similar account in his own book, published seven years ago. Patterson carried the football for President Clinton over several years. As ABC News points out, a biscuit has gone missing before: former President Jimmy Carter lost his authenticator codes after he left the card in a suit sent to the cleaners. ABC News

debunk - Prison Planet's Alex "Foot in Mouth" Jones Unleashes Another Whopper: CIA Fakes Bin Laden Confession, NSA has hands in Google as part of New World Conspiracy????

updated on July 25, 2010 by Admin

Alex Jones was caterwalling on some bizarre blog news site that the CIA faked the Bin Laden 'confession' video (along with other Bin Laden communications) and, along with the NSA, has subverted the internet to monitor and control (?) the flow of information......because......of the charge....of the....some New World Order......I couldn't make heads or tails of his comments which can be viewed here.
The source of Jones' heresy is Jeff Stein's blog in the Washington Post, in particular this article:
SpyTalk: CIA's wacky idea: Depict Saddam as gay
The blog states the following:
The agency actually did make a video purporting to show Osama bin Laden and his cronies sitting around a campfire swigging bottles of liquor and savoring their conquests with boys, one of the former CIA officers recalled, chuckling at the memory. The actors were drawn from “some of us darker-skinned employees,” he said. Eventually, “things ground to a halt,” the other former officer said, because no one could come to agreement on the projects.
There is NO mention that this was the 'confession' video or that the CIA had faked ANY of the bin laden communications released to the public. However, this doesn't stop Jones from wildly spouting more conspiracy pap: he ties these operations with the NSA & Google, the corporations, and this "New World" order. Note all buzz words used by 9/11 truthers. Jones needs the Bin Laden confession to be fake in order to pursue his truther agenda.
Incredibly, he even condemns the major news media outlets for not running with these stories of intelligence agency shenanigans: at least the major news media outlets fact check and subject themselves to peer review. Blogman Jones does neither.

government - Jan. 25, 1995: The Day the World was Two Minutes from Nuclear Annihilation

updated on April 19, 2010 by Admin

On January 25, 1995, the United States and Norway conducted a international science experiment: they launched a multi stage rocket designed for high altitude atmospheric science experiments from a launch site in Norway. Notification of the launch had been sent by Norway to the Russians, but, for unknown reasons, the warning never reach the Russian high command, including  President Boris Yeltsin. As the multi-stage rocket made its descent into the atmosphere, the Russian early warning system went on high alert, fearing the Americans had launched a sneak attack from one of their submarines off the coast of Norway.
From its appearence to its trajectory, the rocket had all the tell tale signs of an inbound American nuclear weapon. Its first stage was called an "Uncle John", an old tactical missile once used by the American military but now relegated to benign scientific duty. Its load was also unusually heavy, weighing 6 tons in fact. Its 18.4 m length resembled that of a 13.4 m American Trident II SLBM. In addition, its four stage separation appeared on Soviet radar to mirror the warhead separation of inbound multiple warhead missle. It was tracked by Russian Air Command to the north of Russia and, as each stage of the rocket separated, operators feared they were witnessing the release of multiple targeting nuclear warheads.
At the time of this event, the United States and the former Soviet Union utilized what is known as a 'hair trigger' launch system to ensure a retaliatory strike was never sacrificed.  Inbound alerts activated a 15 minute window by which land based ICBMs must be launched at risk of losing them to an opponents first strike nuclear attack. For an American or Russian President, a decision of life or death had to be made within this time frame.
Based on the radar reports from Air Defense, Boris Yeltsin was briefed that an American missile was, in fact, en route to the Russia. His nuclear suitcase was activated and the highest alert status was forwarded the Russian Air Defense. The Russians prepared to launch a retaliatory strike, waiting for Yeltsin's command. Details of the conversations inside Yeltsin's Presidential office are not known, however, the President met with his senior military advisors, nuclear briefcase on the table, and used nearly the entire 'use them or lose them' window to identity the purpose of the inbound. It was only until the final two minutes of the fifteen minute launch window  that Yeltsin was convinced the missle was not an American Trident or IBM. He issued the order to stand down. As muclear war breathed as closely on the neck of the world as it ever had, very few people in the world that day would ever realize that the world stood 120 seconds from nuclear Armageddon.

Tramautic Brain Injury From Blast

In a 2006 paper from The Journal of Neuropsychiatry, "Blast-Related Traumatic Brain Injury: What Is Known?" co-authors Taber, Warden, and Hurley studied the impact of blast injury on both the body and the brain. The group noted that TBI could result through several previous suspected effects: concussion, hemorrage, or edema through shear and stress waves.   Read More
